I have to admit, this and the original film bored me. I try to approach movies on their own terms and keep in mind the times that they were made but they’re both too slow. Everytime Max Schreck is on the screen I’m captivated but that’s too few and far between.
As for Kinski, this is probably his most reserved performance out of his and Herzog’s entire collaboration. I’ll be curious to hear what you have to say about it on the podcast, though.
