If you haven’t seen Bill and Turner Ross’ documentary 45365, you need to reassess your priorities. But really, it’s a great film that weaves the seemingly disconnected tales of an small Ohio town into a complex tapestry that examines the connective tissue between its inhabitants and how they relate and interact with one another. Now the Ross brothers have put together a short film called Dinosaur Curtains, giving us an intimate look at the personal experience of one young family’s appearance on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

The film mostly takes the excited husbands point of view as he organizes the viewing night and even shares some of the spotlight on the game show. It’s interesting because I’ve never really consider the thrill of appearing on a game show and how it can affect someones life outside of the context of the show itself. It reminded me of a great episode of Errol Morris’ First Person in which a man obsesses over a wrong answer — on Millionaire as well — that he argues was indeed right.
