We caught this trailer before A Serious Man a couple of weeks ago, and to be honest, at the time I wasn’t even clear on whether or not it was a documentary. Babies is directed by Thomas Balmes and follows the story of four newborns from totally different corners of the globe: Namibia, Mongolia, Japan and the United States. Looks like it will make for an interesting cultural comparison, although the cute baby footage is probably the primary selling point and could even make this a mainstream hit. Focus Features will release Babies in select theatres on April 16th, 2010.
