there was something off about this film for me, it felt as if it were making the case that "this is Italy", which is obviously not true, the equivalent would be expanding the scope of Jesus Camp as America. while there is truth in this as representing Italian culture (or American, in the case of JC), it seems a lazy thesis. i thought it was unclear if the case was being made that Italians are generally stupid or if the political system is too tied to something. either way, the film, while a great case study of sorts, was otherwise a bit too unweildy for my tastes. i came away with Italian society being in the stages immediately prior to Judge's society in Idiocracy. i did like the film as a portrait of rather disgusting characters, if that is what you mean by the Outer Limits style tone (i don't know the Outer Limits), and i would also like to see more films attempt such portraits.

i'd like to read more on how you think Videocracy's style [form/structure?] increases discomfort, i don't really get what that means or refers to.

I just watched the trailer. It looks pretty good, but it feels like they were dehumanizing women a bit.

I like the snap-shot of that guy's bedroom. White on white on white. That has got to be a chick haven! Just like in Wayne's Worlds; "Chicks are helpless against its powers." -Garth

I've also noticed that girls look way hotter when laying naked against white comforters. Especially Asian/black ones. Could it be the black hair providing contrast?! Gawd I love this movie already...going to watch trailer now.
