Just to clarify – the smiley face in my comment above is supposed to be between the words ‘though’ and ‘Anyhow’. Not sure how it ended up next to ‘killing people’ – certainly wasn’t my intention.

Walter – I’d take it one step further and say Shouting Fire should be mandatory viewing in order to qualify to speak publicly. Well, that’s probably a 1st Amendment violation though Anyhow, it is truly sad that so many Americans don’t understand what freedom actually means but still insist on killing people to protect it.

Excellent and very personable accounting of some very difficult classic American freedom of speech speech issues. Should be mandatory viewing for students starting in the 8th-grade. On second thought, Shouting Fire should be mandatory viewing by all American adults in order to qualify to vote in this country.
