Hey remember when Disney released their nature documentary Earth in theatres back in April in order to cash in on — uh, I mean, raise awareness of — Earth Day? Well guess what, today is World Environment Day, and in honour of this, producer Luc Besson has released the new documentary Home online entirely for free. Sounds a little more generous than Disney, although to be fair, I don’t see him planting any trees either!
The movie is directed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, an acclaimed aerial photographer, who provides some pretty insane looking footage of the Earth from above, showing landscapes from 54 different countries. Glenn Close does the English narration which covers various climate change statistics. While we’ve probably heard some of it before in An Inconvenient Truth, I think this looks a little more visually interesting than Al Gore’s slideshow. Home will be online until June 14th. I’ve embedded the trailer below, but you’ll have to follow the link to watch the full movie in HD on YouTube.

It was great.i like that it shows people small like all the other animals to understand how these small creatures have destroyed the planet.thank u for that perfect documentary
Best documentary.
everyone must watch.
watched it on youtube and about an hour and eight minutes into it, she mentioned that “water expands as it gets warmer”… WRONG. When water FREEZES, it EXPANDS in volume!!!
which means that water levels may not rise as much as it is mentioned in the doc. when people get their facts straight about climate change, i’ll listen to them.
so what if everything changes. is everything supposed to stay the same forever? that’s why there’s such thing as EVOLUTION. it’s not like nature wont balanced itself.
Yes, warm water expands, just like warming anything.
And, as you cool water, it contracts- until it starts to freeze- then, because it forms rather large crystals it suddenly expands (have you ever stopped to think how much of life depends on that fact?). If you continue to cool ice after it has completely frozen, it will contract again.
the movie is right, guys. and the dude above. water expands when heated and also when it changes into solid state – freezes. don’t be so quick to judge before you checked the facts yourselves. =)
great documentary! i can watch it again, and again. it’s just plain beautiful as well as thought-provoking!
Hi guys, do you know if this documentary is actually royalty-free?
