Cinema Eye Honors Has a New Website

I don’t post much news about awards here at The Documentary Blog. In fact, I don’t post much news at all. But I thought it’s worth mentioning that AJ Schnack’s Cinema Eye Honors second annual awards ceremony is right around the corner (March 29th to be exact), and a new website has been launched and it looks pretty sweet. The Cinema Eye Honors have quickly become the awards ceremony to watch for, recognizing many of those films that seem to be overlooked by so many other festivals/awards committees. Best of all, technique is given the attention it deserves with major awards for editing, cinematography and producing. Be sure to check out the official site here, and have a look at this years nominees. I’ll post a few of them below, highlighting my picks. The only film I felt was missing from this list is Dear Zachary, which I would’ve liked to have seen nominated for best editing. Who do you think’s gunnin’ for that #1 spot? (clever.)
