  45365 continues the tradition of a new wave of documentaries that focus on seemingly mundane subjects that when successfully explored, result in engaging and challenging filmmaking. Directors Turner Ross and Bill Ross have created a film that's equally conceptual as it is narrative, providing some great characters and striking imagery. Watching this film is like living in Sidney for an hour and half.   The 2009 Hot Docs lineup has officially been announced and I'm extremely excited. For one, this will be a good opportunity to catch up on many of the films I missed at Sundance. Also, I'm currently not working, so I will have all of free time to dedicate to the festival. NICE. Luckily, there's a shit ton of movies that I'm interested in, so it won't be hard to fill out my schedule (It never really is).   I don't post much news about awards here at The Documentary Blog. In fact, I don't post much news at all. But I thought it's worth mentioning that AJ Schnack's Cinema Eye Honors second annual awards ceremony is right around the corner (March 29th to be exact), and a new website has been launched and it looks pretty sweet. The Cinema Eye Honors have quickly become the awards ceremony to watch for, recognizing many of those films that seem to be overlooked by so many other festivals/awards committees.
