Readers of The Documentary Blog should know two things: I’m a big fan of Luke Meyer and Andrew Neel’s live action role playing film Darkon, and I’m very interested in conspiracy theorists. Luckily for me, these two worlds have collided, thus spewing forth ‘New World Order’; a new documentary from Meyer and Neel that looks at the culture of conspiracy in the U.S., focusing mainly on radio host Alex Jones’ plight to reveal the truth about 9/11 and of course, the new world order. Here’s the synopsis from the films official website.
“New World Order is a feature-length documentary about conspiracy theorists. The film is a behind the scenes look at the underground anti-globalist movement. This growing movement targets the annual Bilderberg conference, and the 9/11 attacks as focal points in the
alleged global conspiracy.
Alex Jones, a celebrity radio host, and underground cult hero, is the main character of the film. The film chronicles Alex (of Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly), and four other conspiracy theorists, on their ceaseless quests to expose the ‘massive global conspiracy’ that they believe threatens the future of humanity.”
Is it just me or does that trailer look awesome? I’m very happy to see a serious documentary taking a look at the conspiracy theorists as people, rather than examining the theories themselves. I think I’ve seen one too many ‘Loose Change’ style docs on this subject. New World Order makes its world premier at the SXSW film festival this March.
This documentary looks like it will be highly entertaining. I can’t believe that I followed Ron Paul all throughout 2008, and never heard about this.
Oh ya. This should be very good. Having listened to Alex Jones for about 4 yrs I was hoping someone would make a doc like this. Alex is the hardest working, most insightful, and truthful political talkshow host and documentary film maker in the world. The only documentary on Alex Jones that would truly be fascinating would be one that had the ability to answer the question – does Alex Jones know he’s a charlatan? Or has he mastered the act so fully, he’s become the character?
As for Jones’s followers, their stories might be interesting but ultimately so sad I doubt it could sustain – even in the bleakest documentaries you’ve got to find some hope somewhere, but these Waco/survivalist types, once they cross the line, don’t seem capable of returning to reality.
Jay, do you listen to Coast to Coast with George Noory? They talk about alot of conspiracy stuff on that show and I think you would enjoy it.
I have a relative who is into this stuff. I used to listen to it a little but then I stopped. Now looking back i can’t help but wonder how I ever got involved in it.
What nobody seems to get about Alex Jones is that he’s extremely balanced, leaning toward skeptical. Listen to his program for only 5 minutes, jotting down the facts/claims. Then, check those facts/claims.
It’s not really stretching to say that “Alex Jones is the Last True Journalist in America”.
Now, commence giggling and snickering, as that is the mark of the intellectual.
Alex gives you all the links and info for you to RESEARCH for yourself.If you accept everything that`s fed to you by mainstream media,you will go down,they will fleece you,ARE fleecing you.I`m lucky I have the time to read up and phone around.Alex is frightening,thats why ppl prefer not to listen and hear,he is unsettling.The truth is often unpalatable.Good luck with the truth you choose.
I’m not really surprised that some peoples attitude to so called conspiracy theorists is to snigger and call them paranoid nutcases, that is after all how we are taught to react to them and there are plenty of ridiculus theories that taint the validity of those based on fact.
I too used to snigger and laugh at the stupidity of these people until i started to see more and more evidence that there was some truth in what was being said, i then tried hard to debunk what i didn’t want to believe and couldn’t.
I listern to Alex’s radio show regularlly and don’t always agree with his interpretations but his facts are very well investigated and are a great tool in directing my own research towards important information.
We have become a nation of lazy people only interested in entertainment, who judge people on personality and not on the facts they speak, all i ask is that people do their own critical research before coming to hasty conclusions based on lazy preconceptions.

For those who dismiss the interpretations of people like Alex Jones out of hand with a superior snicker, at least we all might agree that our cultural and political leaders have absolutely no interest in what would benefit our nation and world as a whole. We must bypass these frauds, whoever they are, and find out as best we can ourselves. If Alex Jones is a phoney, then we must discover it ourselves. No leader, no instituion, no bullshit person claiming to work for the common good is ever going to help us in life. We are all on our own.
I get crap from my family all the time because I am always talking about this. They look at me like I am a nut case, I look at me as someone that has a brain and uses it to look at the facts.
Many people say it’s not American to question the government, I tell them it’s not American NOT to question the government.
Maybe someday when all of the people involved in the 9/11 incident are dead and gone, the truth will finally come out.
I tell my children to remember what I tell them and that when I am dead and gone, and they are my age, they my actually hear some of the truth about 9/11 and the few rich families that control this country and the world.
If we don’t act now I am afraid that someday it will be too late to reverse. The only thing that makes this country from any other country in the world, is that document called the Constitution. Don’t let them get away with taking it away from us, it’s more than just a GD piece of paper as George Bush once said, it’s the most important document ever written in this country.

Irrespective of the labels, conspiracy theorists or otherwise. Isn’t time we begin to question the main stream stories. The so called “Reporters of facts” have failed us into the situation we live in right now, a world filled with lies, misdirection, misinformation, wars etc. where the true facts, motivations, and strategies employed keep us alienated and ignorant to the obvious before our own eyes. But we can always rely on american idol, gladiators, sports etc to keep us pacified.
