The Documentary Blog’s Top Ten Films of the Year

The English Surgeon

Well the new year is upon us and it’s been some time since I’ve posted around here. I’m going to say that this years New Year’s resolution, like last years, will be to post more often on The Documentary Blog. (It’s worth mentioning that I’ve been invited to cover the Sundance Film Festival next month, so I plan to pick things up around here in the near future. More on that coverage later.) This site has actually gotten much more attention from readers and filmmakers then I’d expected, and I really should try to push things forward this year. More festivals, more films, more reviews.

Anyways, I thought I’d post my top ten films of 2008 list. As some of you may know, I’m also involved in a site called Film Junk, and we recently had our year end podcast. This is the list I prepared for that show. I don’t really feel the need to seperate the documentaries from the narrative features, so I’m just going to post the list as is. Feel free to totally disagree with me in the comments section! Happy new year!
