SnagFilms Brings Feature Length Docs to the Web For Free! (And Legally)

Here’s a cool site that Documentary Blog readers are sure to enjoy. SnagFilms allows its visitors to not only watch feature length docs such as Dig!, Supersize Me and Darkon for free, but allows them to ‘SNAG’ them and embed them on their own blogs! WHOA. (Actually, it’s just a widget that will bring you to another pop-up player.) Apparently it’s completely legit, as paid for by commercial ads which run occasionally throughout the films. The site is still new, so there isn’t a huge number of films. However, the selection is already pretty decent. Check it out for yourself by clicking here. And for anyone who’s been hunting down Darkon, I’ve embedded it below for your viewing pleasure! Enjoy, and be sure to visit SnagFilms and show your support.

Insanely excited, I immedeatly clicked on the ‘watch’ button, only to find this:

“We’re sorry. AOL Video is temporarily unavailable. Go to AOLVideo.com to watch thousands of other videos.”

Is it unavailable outside of North America?

Pfft. You’re not much of a webmaster! I can’t seem to find any info on it on the website myself… It is AOL though, which I think means America OnLine right? Gotta get the real WEBMASTER to look into this…

I’m based in London and I hit the same snag- the AOL film site is ‘temporarily unavailable’ every time I try to watch a film. I guess that’s what beta testing is for. http://www.biggerpictureresearch.com

    Hey Jay.

Chris the Salton Sea documentary guy here. I had a quick question about your Niagra doc, but the e-mail I have for you seems to be old as it keeps getting bounced back. When you have a chance, can you shout me back at cametzler@gmail.com?

    Cheers,

    Chris
