If any of you have been visiting my personal site, you may be aware of a personal project i’ve started putting together in the past month or so; a short documentary about tourism in Niagara Falls. I’ve started shooting some stuff here and there, gathering some scenic shots and what not, however this Friday is my first sit-down interview for the project. I’ll be talking to Niagara Falls Mayor Ted Salci about the state of tourism in the region and the falls’ recent induction into the 7 Wonders of Canada. I’ll be posting some stills from the interview, so anyone interested can check back for those. I hope to come up with a better summary of the film soon, so once I get that together i’ll be sure to post it.

What’s the hook? What angle are you taking with this?
No offence, but this sounds like it could be a boring subject in the wrong hands.

“A lot of people love to see the falls,” said the mayor. “In fact, that’s why we named our town — niagra falls.”
That afternoon Bonnie and Frank Eckles, who were visiting from Witchita Falls, Mass, agreed. “Yep, they sure are tall. Look at all that water.”
Phil:
You can trust that if the project isn’t interesting, it won’t be finished. However, at this point i’m thinking there is something worth looking at. I’ll get into details shortly.
And by the way, the topic does sound like it could be boring in the wrong hands. But I do enjoy a challenge, and I have faith. Hopefully things will come together. Stay tuned!

Yes, i’ve seen The Falls. A good film. It was actually directed by someone from Brock University, which is located in my town.
