  The wonderfully well informed web writers over at Twitch have posted a short list of some of the documentaries to be featured at this years Toronto International Film Festival, and although i'm excited to catch pretty much any doc in theatres around here, I was ESPECIALLY happy to see one film on the list: Werner Herzog's 'Encounters at the End of the World'.   Errol Morris has started a photo blog over at the New York Times, and it's a pretty interesting read. He plans to contribute a series of essays about photography, starting with his very first entry which asks the question 'are these photographs true or false?'. The photo in question is that of an ocean liner, with no information provided other than a somewhat banal image.   I shot an interview today with Niagara Falls Mayor Ted Salci. It went extremely well and i’m VERY happy with the footage I got. Here’s a still from the shoot. I was lucky enough to be offered to shoot in the large city hall chambers. The room was pretty awesome, with some interesting colour choices. There’s a great pink wall at the very back that i’d like to do a future interview in front of. The only real problem I had was a last minute issue with my microphone stand.   Although I really sort of detest The Sex Pistols, I thought Julien Temple's 'The Filth and the Fury' was an interesting look at the formation of the, in my opinion, highly overrated so-called godfathers of punk. (If only the phony Sex Pistols mania had bitten the dust LONG before Johnny Rotten's unfortunate appearance on Judge Judy.) Temple's mish-mash of mixed media archival footage was a suitable cinematic hodgepodge, reminiscent of the D.I.Y. punk asthetic.   If any of you have been visiting my personal site, you may be aware of a personal project i've started putting together in the past month or so; a short documentary about tourism in Niagara Falls. I've started shooting some stuff here and there, gathering some scenic shots and what not, however this Friday is my first sit-down interview for the project.   Last month, over on my personal blog, I posted about a group of feisty old folks who go by the name of 'The Young @ Heart Chorus'. The idea isn't really anything new; a group of unlikely folks singing covers of songs that play against their type.
