Leonardo DiCaprio is mad as hell, and he’s not going to take it anymore! It looks like everybody’s new favourite actor has been bitten by the activist bug and is now following in Al Gore’s footsteps with his new film ‘The 11th Hour’. Not to be confused with Spike Lee’s ‘The 25th Hour’, or Stephen Daldry’s ‘The Hours’, or Steven Spielberg’s ’1941′, ‘The 11th Hour’ is a new documentary produced by Leo and directed by Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners, and tackles the issue of global warming. It’s nice to see someone finally giving this topic some much needed attention. Oh wait, EVERYBODY is giving this topic some much needed attention. So what seperates this film from everything else? Well aside from Leo, it features interviews with over 50 of the world’s leading scientists. I must admit that the statistics will somehow feel much more credible coming from the collective mouth of the scientific community rather then the collective mouth of Al Gore. But what’s Leo’s deal? Why the sudden interest in global warming? Well, perhaps the iceberg that offed him in Titanic had broken off from the Arctic shelf?

1941?
I commend Leo for getting involved with such an important topic. I was recently ashamed of the state of the enviroment when I got to visit the Grand Canyon for the first time. I stood next to a man who described to his son the difference in the haze now and what it looked like in 1963 when he saw it as a kid. The amount of pollution encasing this amazing natural wonder makes me wonder, “What can I do to help?” Thats why I am grateful for the efforts of those who can use their celeberity to speak on the enviroment’s behalf. Somethings gotta give? We need to get serious. Every little effort we make individually towards making a change is collectively a BIG DEAL! Thanks LEO for your support!
Yeah, 1941? Was that a joke? I mean we all know the movie was, but what did you mean by that? Guess it was a sad attempt at a joke. Much like the one about the iceberg.
Hopefully this won’t suck as much as An Inconvient Truth did.
I applaud Leonardo’s film, it will be an important addition to the ongoing debate. I have also made a blog called “55 minutes past the 11th hour” and it’s about POLAR CITIES, a climte change idea I have been pushing for a few months. Nobody seems to be listening, though. SIGH. read the blog or google or wikie “polar cities” — climatechange3000.blogspot.com

It is now really 55 minutes past the 11th hour, and global warming is a major, major problem. There are many ways to deal with the issue, including ignoring it entirely. Movies like “An Inconvenient Truth” and “The 11th Hour” produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio on the state of the natural environment, are important.
Thinking about POLAR CITIES in the future, to house some 200 million survivors of climate change in the year 2500 0r 3000, say, might also be important. See info here:

“It really is getting later earlier and earlier.” Who said that?
“Global warming is not only the number one environmental challenge we face today, but one of the most important issues facing all of humanity … We all have to do our part to raise awareness about global warming and the problems we as a people face in promoting a sustainable environmental future

Thinking About Polar Cities — Or Trying To
By Kit Stolz
An interesting blogger named Danny Bloom has been agitating for consideration of one of James Lovelock’s more alarming ideas — polar cities.

Global warming is fake, the sun is getting bigger, nothign we really can do when the sun is burning our planet, i think our planet is going through a cycle, if not, satan is coming, look a leo, look at the cars he drives and the house he has, you honestly think he gives a shit about global warming? 50 of the worlds smartest scientists my ass, this is a publicity stunt and a to open our minds to our environment.
just saw 11th Hour, the “Nature’s Operating Instructions” extra feature is especially interesting… apparently there is some amazing technology built into nature, a lot there that we should use as a model for our own technology
hi!!!greetings from the god….plzzzz…help me for my reaction paper in “the 11th hour”
plzzzzz..help me…
watching the movie the 11th hour awaken my environmental consciousness…behind the fact that we all know..we are the main contributors of the destruction of the mother earth..it is so gross to see the world like this!!!!And I guess, instead of arguing why don’t we work as a single race of human in preventing the terrifying disaster happening in our environment….Everyone, let us hear the cry of mother nature…..Stop destroying nature!!!!Save the world!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE YOU LEONARDO!!!
