  Review by Christiaan Harden Director Chris Atkins wanted to do two things with Taking Liberties. He wanted to make his viewers laugh; and he wanted to make them angry. He did both. His witty and entertaining feature will also prompt many to action – a final hurdle that many documentaries find it difficult to clear. Despite New Labour’s election anthem, unfortunately things haven’t ‘only got better’. They’ve got worse. Far worse.   Here's something I heard about a while back that really piqued my interest. 'The Falling Man' is a documentary directed by Henry Singer and produced for Britain's Channel 4. It actually premiered on Canada's CBC in September of last year, but unfortunately I missed the broadcast.   The trailer and website for director Seth Gordon's 'The King of Kong: A Fist Full of Quarters' has just popped up online, and boy does it ever capture the essence of the 80's. Or should I say it captures the essence of being TRAPPED in the 80's. Such is seemingly the case of its main characters, Billy Mitchell and Steve Sanders, who digitally duke it out to see who's the world's greatest Donkey Kong player. The film found success at Sundance, scoring a distribution deal with Picturehouse, and has apparently provided the inspiration for an upcoming New Line fictional film ...

  As awesome as AOL True Stories is, I must admit i've never really sat down to watch a full movie on the internet. Especially one that i've really wanted to see. However, this might be a first, as i've really been looking forward to Bradley Beesley and Sarah Price's film 'Summercamp!'. Both have previously been attatched to some great projects; Brad Beesley has given us 'Okie Noodling' and the great Flaming Lips documentary 'The Fearless Freaks', while Sarah Price has worked on 'The Yes Men', Michael Moore's 'The Big One', and one of my favourite documentaries of all time, 'American ...
