Our First Look At ‘Sicko’

michael-moore-sicko-070513-0.jpgWith the Cannes film festival well underway, I was thinking how strange it was that Michael Moore’s new documentary ‘Sicko’, screening at the festival, has seen no real marketing push outside of the announcement of its June 29th release date. I mean i’ve seen no commercials, no trailer, no interviews…you’d think somebody was trying to COVER SOMETHING UP!!! Well before all of you conspiracy theorists get your ‘impossibly un-harmed red bandanas discovered at the crash site of allegedly obliterated Flight 93′ in a bunch, Film Junk, the Documentary Blog’s sister site, has just posted some recently released footage of the film, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect. We get to see Moore interview a man who’s sawed off finger tips would cost him $72,000 to re-attatch, which is then juxtaposed against the British health care system which not only covers all hospital expenses, but re-imburses you for your parking!

Although Moore’s hot topic button pushing might not hold the power it once did, I’m still looking forward to this film. What i’m NOT looking forward to is the unavoidable stream of horribly made ‘counter-point’ documentaries that are sure to follow. I can see it now: ‘Slicko: How Michael Moore Fooled Us All’. Check out the attatched You Tube video at the very end of this post for a sneak peek at some of the clever Moore bashign to come our way. Anyways, check out the clip below and let us know in the comments section what you think.
