After a good month of some solid Guitar Hero action, I gotta say i’m pumped for the upcoming film, Air Guitar Nation. As i’ve said before, i’m a sucker for tournament style films, and I can’t wait to watch two grown men flailing their invisible axe around on stage in hopes of fame and glory. Actually, i’m pretty interested in finding out what exactly makes a good air guitar player. Do you get bonus points if your fingering and strumming are correct? Somehow I think it’s all about style, and based on the trailer, it seems some of these people will do anything to put on a good show. I’m sure this subject will have its naysayers, thinking ‘Give me a break! How do you make a film about air guitarists?’. But based on the buzz surrounding the film, it seems as though director Alexandra Lipsitz has succeeded in giving us an interesting look at an unusual sub-culture.
