‘Running With Arnold’ Shows Us How the Fuck Arnold Schwarzenegger Became Governor

421921.jpgI’m sure there’s some people out there who are used to the idea of ‘Governor’ Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I can’t say i’m one of them. I mean, really? Arnold Strong? I guess I haven’t really followed his political career that closely, so maybe i’m just being cynical. If Jesse Ventura can do it, I suppose Arnold can. Well for those of us who are still wondering how all of this came to be, Director Dan Cox gives us the brand new documentary ‘Running With Arnold’. Here’s the synopsis:

Running With Arnold is a politically-charged documentary that tells the fascinating and humorous story of one of the most famous men of our time. From his childhood in post World War II Austria, through his days as a weightlifting champion and action movie star, the film exposes Arnold Schwarzenegger’s life in all of its sordid glory. We watch how Arnold’s ambition for fame and power have led him on a “take no prisoners” political career that resulted in his winning a political circus special recall electon campaign to become the leader of the world’s fifth largest economy as Governor of California.

Alright, let’s face it. We want footage of Arnold saying silly things, smoking pot and grabbing women. Luckily, we do have ‘Pumping Iron’ to fill that insatiable hunger, but obviously there’s some room in ‘Running With Arnold’ for some humorous juxtapositions between ‘The Governator’s current career and his past life as a balls-to-the-wall action star. The offiical trailer is now online, and i’d say about half of it is made up of footage from many of Arnold’s previous films. I just hope that the end result isn’t a clip heavy movie that relies on the same joke over and over. But i’m hopeful, and look forward to ‘Running With Arnold’ for an interesting look at the life of a cyborg politician from the future.
