  I swear the Film Junk video podcast is taking over my life. Now that i've finished this week's episode, I can shift my attention back to The Documentary Blog. I guess the biggest news story this week would be the Oscar nominations. I'm not a huge follower of the awards shows, (that's what they all say) but sometimes it's fun to check in on the nominees to see what suprises you might find. As for the documentary category, it was pretty cut and dry.   Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I took party in a great even this weekend.   Horse sex mania has hit a new high this week with news concerning the upcoming Sundance screening of director Robinson Devor's Zoo.   It looks like inventor Troy Hurtubise is at it again. The man behind the infamous homemade bear protection suit, the creation of which was documented in Peter Lynch's NFB film 'Project Grizzly', has unveiled a new project called 'Trojan', the "first ballistic, full exoskeleton body suit of armour." After going bankrupt thanks to his bear suit, Troy has put in another 15,000 dollars, working out of his North Bay, Ontario home on this new idea that he hopes will gain the attention of the military and police.   Being a fan of horror films, i've had many discussions with friends about which films had the best scares or creepiest moments. If you were to ask me what was the creepiest thing i'd ever seen on film, the first would be the process of natural human birth. Gross and weird.   I've always been a big fan of the work of Spike Jonze. I don't even have to mention the brilliance of Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, but I will. And of course there's the music videos and commercials, (Check out this Gap commercial, one of his best.) and his involvement in the Jackass tv show/movies, which shows that even Oscar nominated directors don't have to take themselves too seriously.
