Young, Fast & Scientific: A Documentary Blog Podcast Series

hdr_box2.jpgSo i’ve decided to pass the time this holiday season by recording a five-part podcast on the making of my student film, ‘Obsessed & Scientific’. First off, that may be a lie. I’m not quite sure how many ‘parts’ there will be, but for now i’ll go with five. Think of it as a ‘Project Greenlight’ type deal, only no Ben or Matt. The idea is to give some insight into the process that me and my fellow crew/classmates went through to complete a 20-30 minute documentary on 16mm film. Here’s a synopsis of the first episode:

The Documentary Blog presents the first installment of ‘Young, Fast & Scientific’, a series of podcasts detailing the process of producing and filming my own student documentary, ‘Obsessed & Scientific’. This episode explores the early stages of pitching a 30 minute documentary film about time travel to a class of Niagara College film students, and the initial challenges faced when trying to contact possible subjects for the film. More specifically, Steven L. Gibbs, ‘The Rainman of Time Travel’.

I’m going to try my best to cover the pitch, pre-production, production and post-production…all of the ups and downs and the many lessons learned. All of this coming from an amateur point of view. So check out the very first episode of ‘Young, Fast & Scientific’ right here and stay tuned for future episodes. Comments and criticisms are more than welcome as usual.
