Im still amazed at what and who people will believe in when they have very little or no education. This isn't a single event in history this kind of thing has been happening for thousands of years. The human race has been held back for centuries by one religion or another, the darkages the inquisitions to name just a couple. There is still thousands of power hungry self absorbed murdering scumbags like Jones around who take advantage of the poor and uneducated and call it religion, governments or dictatorships.

There was this guy see.
He wasn't very bright and he reached his adult life without ever having learned "the facts".
Somehow, it gets to be his wedding day.
While he is walking down the isle, his father tugs his sleeve and says,

"Son, when you get to the hotel room...Call me"

Hours later he gets to the hotel room with his beautiful blushing bride and he calls his father,

"Dad, we are the hotel, what do I do?"

"O.K. Son, listen up, take off your clothes and get in the bed, then she should take off her clothes and get in the bed, if not help her. Then either way, ah, call me"

A few moments later...

"Dad we took off our clothes and we are in the bed, what do I do?"

O.K. Son, listen up. Move real close to her and she should move real close to you, and then... Ah, call me."

A few moments later...

"DAD! WE TOOK OFF OUR CLOTHES, GOT IN THE BED AND MOVED REAL CLOSE, WHAT DO I DO???"

"O.K. Son, Listen up, this is the most important part. Stick the long part of your body into the place where she goes to the bathroom."

A few moments later...

"Dad, I've got my foot in the toilet, what do I do?"

Ok, I caught this at CPH:DOX tonight, and while I did think the movie was very, very good I think it did have some flaws that aren't mentioned in the review.

I thought the movie too quickly turned on Jim Jones, leaving little to no build-up before exposing some of his flaws and frauds in running his congregation. I thought the most interesting part of this phenomenon was how he was able to enthrall these people to the point that were willing to follow him anywhere, and I didn't think the movie focused enough on this point of the story. We all know that there are cults then and now which hold you more or less against your will, and tries to brainwash you, and that's not what is interesting. What is interesting is how did the people first get into the whole deal, and I thought that part was lacking in the movie.

After sitting through a lot of it being saddened by the fact they didn't delve into this, I will say that the ending was very, very emotional for me and actually hard to watch at times. The ending almost salvaged anything I thought the movie was lacking beforehand.

It is a good movie though, and worth watching. It's very good that there is so much actual footage of the events to draw upon, and while I thought the movie was missing some actual Jim Jones, it otherwise made good use of the footage.
