  Tony Kaye (Yes, that's him to the right), the stylish yet modest director/cinematographer (quoted as saying "I consider myself the greatest craftsman /director /imagemaker on this planet,") of the usually over-praised (in my opinion) American History X has apparently been keeping busy shooting a documentary film for the past 12 years. "Lake of Fire" is a two and a half hour opus centering on that timeless yet tired debate...ABORTION: lame or awesome? Man, first racism, now abortion. This guy watches too much Degrassi. There doesn't seem to be much information floating around, but I have come across some positive reviews ...

  Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher used to be one of my favourite shows. You can't get anymore blunt and cynical than Maher and his distaste for children and religion. With that in mind, you can only imagine what he had to say about Heidi Ewing & Rachel Grady's documentary 'Jesus Camp'. The buzz is huge about this film and Maher and a panel of guests discuss the film and their opinions on religion and the idea of children claiming that they need to be saved.   The Devil and Daniel Johnston Director: Jeff Feuerzeig I think that ‘rockumentaries’ are really hit and miss for me. Typically, you get a bunch of self-important music critics claiming that they were there from the beginning, struggling to convince the naysayer’s that they just discovered genius. The focus seems to drift away from the artist and falls into the lap of the scenesters, retelling the story as though the entire world revolved around them.   So the trailer for Amy Berg's film Deliver Us From Evil has hit the web, but not without some controversy of course. I've checked out the trailer and it's some pretty powerful stuff. The film focuses on the confessions of Father Oliver O'Grady, a member of the Catholic Church who admits to having molested multiple children since 1973. The film not only features interviews with O'Grady himself, but some of his victims ("My last memory of Oliver is severe pain...before i blacked out") and more shockingly, videotaped questioning of the Church officials who've kept his pedophelia a secret ...

  I'm a huge fan of horror films. Many of my childhood movie staples included the films of John Carpenter (They Live, Big Trouble In Little China, Prince of Darkness), which has resulted in my sometimes blind love of anything Carpenter releases. (Ghosts of Mars and Escape From L.A. both ruled.)
