  The official trailer for 'American Hardcore: The History of American Punk Rock 1980-1986' has hit the web and I have to say that i'm not that interested. Some films require extra care and attention when trying to introduce a subject to an audience that might otherwise be uninterested, and this movie seems to be preaching to the converted.   Sensational is one word which could be used to describe the films of Nick Broomfield.   Right wing extremists around the world took a time out from photoshopping pig noses on pictures of Michael Moore this week to read a letter he wrote to Anne Thompson of the Hollywood Reporter in regards to his upcoming health care documentary 'Sicko' and the slow process of piecing the film together.   Although the 'investigative' documentary isn't necissarily my favourite type of documentary film, its power is undeniable. Films like Fahrenheit 9/11 and An Inconvenient Truth not only bring attention to their individual topics, but to documentary filmmaking as a whole. Well it seems that there's a new kid on the block causing quite a stir.
