A while back it was announced that a new Kurt Cobain documentary was in the works, one that would use audio recordings of Cobain himself to narrate. I’ve been hoping this would be a little more definitive and less sensationalistic than Nick Broomfield’s Kurt & Courtney (still enjoyable in its own right, even if isn’t all that factual). Well it looks like the movie now has a name, Kurt Cobain About A Son, and it will premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. Director A.J. Schnack (who previously directed a They Might Be Giants doc called Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns) just put up a post on his personal blog recapping his production diaries for anyone who wants to learn more about the Cobain film.

i would like to catch this flick for sure. i havent seen the Kurt & Courtney doc, and i havent really been into the whole Nirvana thing lately so it will be fresh for me.
Ok. I loved Kurt but I’ve seen enough stuff about him. It’s been almost as over done as the entire Biggy and Tupac killings. Enough is enough.
That said, I’ll probably see it when it comes my way.
