Trailer: ‘This Film Is Not Yet Rated’

MPAA.jpgI recently had the pleasure of sitting through Cannibal Holocaust, the world famous, nauseatingly sadistic, 1980 Italian exploitation ‘masterpiece’. The tagline for the movie…’The Most Contreversial Film You’ll Ever See’. With multiple scenes of simulated rape and REAL animal mutilations, I could only imagine what rating this film would’ve gotten if it had ever been submitted to the MPAA. With this in mind, i recently came across a trailer for a new documentary called ‘This Film Is Not Yet Rated’, a look at the MPAA ratings board and an attempt to solve the mystery of who they are and how they work. Normally a documentary about how the film rating system works might sound pretty dry, but director Kirby Dick has taken an interesting angle on the topic. Dick decided to hire a private investigator to track down the elusive members of the MPAA and spy on their every move, right down to going through their garbage and trailing them in their cars. The film also features interviews with MPAA favourites Kevin Smith and John Waters. ‘This Film Is Noty Yet Rated’ hits theatres (limited) on September 1st. Until then you can check out the trailer here.
