  It may sound like a subject that is slightly less than scintillating, but I for one hadn't really stopped to think about where our coffee comes from. Sure we all joke about how addicted to it we are here in North America, but what goes on behind the scenes to get us our daily "fix"? Black Gold is a documentary that examines the crisis happening in Ethiopia, where some of the best coffee in the world is produced.   As I alluded to in the previous post, the Toronto International Film Festival has announced the line-up for their Real To Reel documentary programme. Looks like there's going to be lots of great stuff, I hope we can make it to a few of these screenings.   A while back it was announced that a new Kurt Cobain documentary was in the works, one that would use audio recordings of Cobain himself to narrate. I've been hoping this would be a little more definitive and less sensationalistic than Nick Broomfield's Kurt & Courtney (still enjoyable in its own right, even if isn't all that factual).   A new documentary film festival has popped up over in Britian, called appropriately enough, the Britdoc Festival. The timing couldn't be any better. With a gradual rise in popularity due to some heavy hitting box office successes (Super Size Me, Fahrenheit 9/11), documentary films are not only being properly recognized, but are also experiencing a broadening in subject matter which may be more appealing to general audiences.
